Artesans-ResQ Ukraine: February 2026
In February, we continued to focus on the most challenging cases, managing a high volume of evacuations for patients with severe burn trauma (many remained in critical condition with burns covering up to 90–95% of the body).
February 2026 Highlights
25 missions completed: intensive care support (ICU levels 2 and 3) was required for 96% of all patients
All 4 pediatric and 2 neonatal cases successfully transported
11 burn patients successfully evacuated
19 long-distance transfers and 9 targeted evacuations were completed,
with 5 cross-border missions implemented in close cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine MCUTotal distance covered by our team in February: 35,411 km
Case Study #1
A 29-year-old patient with 45% thermal burns and a second patient in extremely critical condition with 95% body surface burns required continuous mechanical ventilation and intensive stabilization.
Our team safely transferred both patients to a specialized burn center in Ukraine and then to Rzeszów, Poland, for further international aeromedical evacuation and specialized treatment abroad.
Case Study #2
An 11-year-old child suffered a blast injury and burns over 30% of the body after a drone hit a residential building.
The patient was in critical condition, requiring mechanical ventilation and vasopressor support for shock.
After four hours of intensive stabilization, the team successfully completed a 6-hour transport to a regional children’s hospital.
Case Study #3
In coordination with the Lviv EMS Center, our team evacuated two burn patients via medical bus to Rzeszów, Poland for further transfer to a clinic in Germany.
Both patients required continuous hemodynamic monitoring, fluid resuscitation, and advanced pain management throughout the mission.
