Artesans-ResQ Ukraine: March 2026
In March, we continued to prioritize high-acuity cases, with all missions involving patients requiring advanced ICU-level care, while ensuring safe transport of pediatric and neonatal patients and maintaining cross-border evacuation capacity with national partners.
March 2026 Highlights
34 missions completed: intensive care support (ICU levels 2 and 3) was required for all patients (100%)
In total, 12 pediatric and 6 neonatal cases were successfully transported – three times higher than in March 2025
3 burn patients successfully evacuated
6 long-distance transfers and 3 targeted evacuations were completed,
with 3 cross-border missions implemented in close cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine MCUTotal transportation time: 293 hours and 45 minutes
Total distance covered by our team in March: 29,438 km
Case Study #1
A 16-year-old patient with a severe penetrating head injury following a drone explosion required urgent transfer to a tertiary care facility.
Patient was mechanically ventilated and required continuous intensive care and monitoring throughout a prolonged interfacility transport.
ARQ team safely transferred the patient from Sumy to the Okhmatdyt, ensuring stable condition upon arrival and continuity of specialized care.
Case Study #2
A 40-year-old patient with 65% severe thermal burns following a drone strike required international critical care transport for further specialized treatment.
The patient was mechanically ventilated and required continuous intensive care during a prolonged transfer.
ARQ team safely transported the patient to Rzeszów, Poland, for handover to an aeromedical team for evacuation to Germany.
Case Study #3
From 27–29 March, the ARQ team delivered training in Kropyvnytskyi as part of its nationwide series for 19 professionals from Vinnytsia, Volyn, Zhytomyr, and Kirovohrad region.
All were involved in critical care patient transport within the MEDEVAC program and targeted evacuations.
Selected participants will proceed to an internship phase with ARQ teams, with the aim of progressing to instructor roles.
