Artesans-ResQ Ukraine: August 2026
In August, ARQ continued to respond to high demand for complex critical care transport, particularly ICU Level 2–3, pediatric, long-distance, burn, and targeted evacuations. Burn cases reached 14 patients — double the previous month. ARQ also continued joint Medevac activities with partners. Alongside operational work, we trained 41 medical professionals from 10 regions through CCT courses in Kropyvnytskyi and Dnipro.
August Highlights
48 missions completed: intensive care support (ICU levels 2 and 3) was required for all patients
In total, 9 pediatric cases were successfully transported, continuing an upward demand trend
14 burn patients successfully evacuated - twice as many as last month
21 long-distance transfers and 5 evacuations were completed, with 5 joint missions in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine MCU
Total transportation time: 419 hours and 54 minutes
Total distance covered by our team in August: 37, 037 km
Case Study #1: Children In Need
ARQ safely transported a young patient with recurrent gastrointestinal bleeding after he returned to hospital shortly after discharge in a severely unstable condition.
Following a comprehensive assessment, the ARQ team established additional ultrasound-guided venous access and initiated blood transfusion before transfer.
After stabilization, the patient was safely transported to a specialized surgical center for further treatment

Case Study #2: Severe Burns
ARQ safely transported a critically-ill child with severe electrical trauma and burns covering up to 70% of the body surface to a specialized burn center.
The 6-hour transfer required pre-transport stabilization, continuous intensive care, and close clinical monitoring throughout the journey.
The child was cared for by ARQ’s specialized pediatric transport team, including pediatric anesthesiologists, and was safely handed over to the burn center for further specialized treatment.

Case Study #3: More Training for Paramedics
In August, ARQ continued its series of CCT Provider training courses, held on 14-16 August in Kropyvnytskyi and 27-29 August in Dnipro. A total of 41 medical professionals from 10 regions completed the training, strengthening their knowledge and practical skills in the stabilization and safe transport of critically ill patients.
